Each year more than 250 professionals participate in the various training and education programs at the White Institute. These programs range in duration from a few hours to four years, offering interested clinicians, organizational consultants, and at times, the general public opportunities to apply psychoanalytic insights to cope with the problems of everyday life.

The William Alanson White Institute is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor Continuing Education for Psychologists. The William Alanson White Institute maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The William Alanson White Institute is an approved provider of Continuing Education under the auspices of the Continuing Education Program of the New York State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. The "Conflict of Interest Policy" of the William Alanson White Institute requires that faculty participating in CME activity disclose to the audience any relationship with a pharmaceutical company which might pose potential, apparent, or real conflict of interest with regard to his or her contribution to the program. The Licensure-Qualifying Program in Psychoanalysis is registered by the NYS Education Department to offer psychoanalytic training that meets the requirements to sit for the examination to become a Licensed Psychoanalyst ("L.P.") in NYS; the White Institute certifies graduation from this program, but licenses are only issued by NYS.
