Eating Disorders, Compulsions & Addictions
The Eating Disorders, Compulsions & Addictions Service is comprised of two components: a clinical service and a one year comprehensive educational program. The clinical service, founded in 1995, invites psychoanalysts, candidates, members in the educational program and invited guests to our selected conference meetings, held at the Institute. Topics cover a wide range of current theoretical and clinical issues related to the topics of eating disorders, compulsions and addictions. In addition, clinical services are offered for those who want to go beyond behavioral change to the deep shifts in character that interpersonal perspectives and techniques in treatment can offer.
The EDCAS 32 week comprehensive program combines didactic and clinical seminars, guest lectures, case conferences and individual and group supervision. Its aim is to provide a concentrated, practice-oriented educational experience to mental health professionals who want to use the interpersonal perspective in working with people who have eating disorders, compulsions or addictions. For additional information about the EDCAS service or program please contact Dr. Jean Petrucelli at (212) 724-9447 or drjpetrucelli@speakeasy.net.
